Annual Lakeshore Plant Exchange is Saturday

Bring your cuttings, plants, spare garden tools — take home a whole new garden.

The annual Lakeshore Plant Exchange, a highlight each year for local garden enthusiasts, takes place this Saturday, March 30, from noon to 4 p.m. at 3811 Lakeshore Ave., Oakland.

It's free, but there is a catch — to participate, you must bring plants or other garden items to exchange.

All types of plants are welcome, from cuttings to full-grown specimens. Many gardeners bring plants they have thinned or divided.

Garden items might include clay pots, gardening tools and equipment, decorative items or stepping stones.

The organizers ask that you fill out a plant form in advance. You can download a copy of the form here.
