Barracuda’s USSSA Champions in Twin Creeks Tournament
The Barracuda’s, a 13u AAA team comprised of players from Oakland and Piedmont, were the champions of USSSA’s “Halloween Bash” tournament held at the Twin Creeks Sports Complex in Sunnyvale on October 27 and 28.
In the championship game held under the lights on Sunday, October 28, the Barracudas engaged in a pitcher’s duel with Livermore’s 13u NorCal Grizzlies. Josh Campuzano pitched 5 innings (11 strike-outs) and Angelo Paez pitched 2 innings (5 strike-outs) for the Barracudas. The Barracudas were behind 0-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning when Carson Gerhardy led off with a walk and Lucas Ognibene tied the game with a hit.
