Good things come in threes, and the week of Sept. 4 was a really good week for the Piedmont High School varsity football team. It started off with Coach Anderson being designated the Oakland Raiders H.S. Coach of the Week. Then the team improved to a 2 - 1 record with decisive win over Albany High School, 42 - 14.
And now, good news #3. Two, yes two, members of the team were named as Stars of the Week by the MercuryNews.com.
"Here's a look at how the Top 15 East Bay teams fared and which players played starring roles on the third Friday of the prep football season:
SPENCER KIM, Piedmont: The Highlanders quarterback went 11-for-14 for 154 yards and two TDS in a 42-14 win over Albany.
JAKE PACHECO, Piedmont: He caught a pair of touchdown passes in a win over Albany."
We are proud of and congratulate these most deserving players.
