It's less than two weeks until the Havens Dads Club Poker Night — time to register if you haven't yet.
Aficionados and novices are both welcome at the fifth annual poker fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 11, at Veterans Hall, 401 Highland Ave. The evening kicks off with a tutorial for beginners at 6:30 p.m. and winds up with the last hand about 11 p.m.
Whiel Texas Hold'em is the main draw, the dads also promise great raffle prizes, drinks, snacks and friendly dealers who love to teach the game. All Piedmont residents are welcome.
Proceeds benefit Havens Elementary School.
