World Cultural Celebration

The Piedmont Highlanders Pipes & Drums along with a variety of ethnic music ensembles will take part in the annual San Leandro heritage celebration which will be held at the San Leandro .

Other performers include Mosheh Milon and the Bantaba Dance and Drum Ensemble, the Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble, the Latvian Folk Dancers, the Tezkatipoka Aztec Dancers and the Red Bean Cantonese Opera.

Kids can also make international arts and crafts at the kids craft area sponsored by the Library, the Asian Community Cultural Association and the Arts Council of San Leandro.

A variety of ethnic foods will be available for purchase.  Adding to the festivities will be a free drawing for raffle prizes.

There will also be four separate sign-up booths for the Toddlers', Children’s, Teens’ and Adults’ Summer Reading Programs.  The 2011 Children’s Summer Reading Program theme is "One World, Many Stories."
