As we march toward the countdown of the end of the Maya Calendar, we will be holding many special events throughout the year in honor of this occasion. Join us for an 11:30am showing of Tales of the Maya Skies followed by an engaging art workshop that showcases funerary traditions of Oaxaca. Rooted in astronomy, we will explore the Zapatec concepts of the connection between the Earth, the sky, and the zenith and nadir passage of the Sun. Art activities will be complimented by a visual presentation. Activities led by Isabel Hawkins and Oaxaca Interns.
Workshop I (12:15pm - 1:15pm)
Workshop II (1:30pm - 2:30pm)
Registration required. Limited space in each workshop.
