Piedmont Avenue Scoop! Fentons Celebrates ice Cream Day with BBQ, Music

Sunday's sundae: Black and Tan Junior for $1.19, eat in or take out.

Fentons Creamery, 4226 Piedmont Ave., Oakland will celebrate National Ice Cream Day Sunday with a special flavor, a price rollback, free BBQ. music and kids' activities on the patio, according to a press release from the local restaurant.

"The theme for the celebration is 'Fentons Ice Cream – Always A Homerun!' And we’ve created a special “Ballpark” Sundae that benefits our community partner for July, the 4-H Clubs of Alameda and Solano Counties, all month long," the restaurant says.

Also on the menu: a price rollback all day Sunday on Black & Tan Junior sundaes to $1.19, in honor of the creamery's 119th anniversary. There's a limit of one per customer.

From noon to 3 p.m., special events include a scooping station and free BBQ on the patio, children's activities, raffles on the half-hour, DJ Mano spinning retro tunes and a chance to meet Myrtle the Cow.
