Baritone Jamie Davis Leads Off New Season of Jazz on Piedmont Ave.

The 2014 season of Jazz at the Chimes kicks off on Sunday, Jan. 19.

Baritone vocalist Jamie Davis will kick off the 2014 season of Jazz at the Chimes with a performance Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland.

Davis' repertoire includes classics from Cole Porter to Stevie Wonder to Charles Mingus. He will be joined by Roger Glenn on sax and vibes, John Groves on piano, Andrew Emer on acoustic bass and Larry Vann on drums.

The concert will be followed by a reception where the public can meet the musicians, purchase CDs and enjoy refreshments.


Tickets are available at the door (cash only) for $15 general and $10 seniors (60+). Ticket sales begin at 12:30 p.m.; doors open at 1:30 p.m. Seating is limited and tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.

Free parking is available.
