Bird Calling–Piedmont's Favorite Theater Sport
The competition that gave PHS it's claim to fame started as a sort of recital for ornithology students. Now it's a field day for theater geeks who spend just as much energy crafting the skits around their bird calls as they do practicing the calls.
Piedmont High hosts the 46th annual Bird Calling Contest Friday. As always, the top three teams will perform their calls on the Late Show with David Letterman in the fall.
