Did You Feel It?: Earthquake in the Afternoon

A small temblor rattled the Bay Area Thursday.

Some in Piedmont got a shake Thursday afternoon from a 3.3-magnitude earthquake centered about three miles to the southeast in Oakland.

At 4:48 p.m. the quake jiggled the earth at a depth of 9.5 miles at 4:48 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. As of 7 p.m. Thursday, the Geological Survey had received 35 responses from those who felt it in the zip codes Piedmont shares with Oakland.

The epicenter was not far from the spot shaken by a 2.5-magnitude quake Tuesday and a 3.3-magnitude quake Sunday.
