Emily's Army Celebrates Release of New Album

"Lost at Seventeen" will be available in stores and online starting June 11.

Emily's Army, Piedmont's own teenage punk rock band, releases its second album, "Lost at Seventeen," on Rise Records Tuesday.

The band celebrated with an all-ages release party Saturday night at the Uptown Nightclub in Oakland.

The release comes just days before the band leaves to join the Vans Warped Tour, with its first performance June 15 in Seattle.

The new album showcases their "knack for ragged So Cal pop-punk with a bleeding heart and a healthy sense of humor," according to a review last week on the Rolling Stone website.

Band members are brothers Max and Cole Becker, Joey Armstrong and Travis Neumann. The album was produced by Joey's father, Billie Joe Armstrong.

Cole Becker recently made headlines of a different kind when he shepherded his ambitious Eagle Scout project, a footbridge in Dracena Quarry Park, through its initial approval by the Piedmont City Council.
