Community Celebration for Day of the Dead

This is the 16th annual Days of the Dead Celebration at the Oakland Museum. 

The exhibition VIVO: Days of the Dead 2010 takes place in the Art Galleries and  offers dance by Besh Beni and Chan Kahal, music by SonRisas and Ixim Tinamit, and ceremonia with Ernesto Olmos. There will be demonstrations of traditional Meso-American arts and foods, and local Days of the Dead merchandise from the mercado. Guests may make their own masks, dancing calaveras, and tin ornaments. Local food vendors will sell tacos, tamales, and vegetarian Mexican food. 


General Museum admission includes the Community Celebration, theVIVO: Days of the Dead exhibition, and OMCA's Art and History Galleries.
