Jon Stich - Publication Party for "Film Listography" at Diesel Bookstore

Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland is delighted to welcome celebrated Oakland artist (and former Diesel manager) Jon Stich back to the store to celebrate the publication of his new book, Film Listography, on Friday, April 13th at 7pm.

The latest book in Lisa Nola's bestselling Listography series, Film Listography has over 70 full-color illustrations by Jon Stich. Like other books in the series, Film Listography covers dozens of topics, ranging from the classic (favorite films of all time, favorite actors, directors, and soundtracks) to the idiosyncratic (top so-bad-it's-good movies, scenes that made you cringe, characters you are most like). Fantastically illustrated and endlessly entertaining, Film Listography is a must-have for film buffs and list enthusiasts alike.

Jon Stich has been creating pictures since he was nine years old, when his father took him to a Red Lobster and he scrawled all over the menu. The first person to be bothered by his artwork was his seventh grade math teacher Mr. Schaffsma, who became angered by Jon's decision to draw a detailed rendition of a gentleman enthusiastically pooping. Since then, he has somehow managed to create and sell artwork of the same quality to the masses. A 2004 graduate of the California College of Arts & Crafts, he lives and works in lovely Oakland, California.
