NightSchool: Curiosity

Give Yourself Some Extra Credit
At NightSchool, students of life can explore, imagine, create and mingle in an incredibly inspiring and magical setting. Themes and activities reflect current events, favorite pastimes and playful experiences, each celebrating the unique, resourceful and exciting community of the East Bay. Get back to school and unleash your inner nerd, spark a new hobby, hobnob with artists and experts, enjoy a show, and relax and contemplate your place in the universe!

School Rules!
3rd Friday of Every Month (7pm - 11pm)
•Adults 18+
•$15 General Admission / $5 Members
•Includes full access to exhibits, special activities, workshops, open labs, discussion forums, live Planetarium show, film screenings and telescope viewing (weather permitting)
•Food, Beer & Wine available for purchase

Theme: CURIOSITY

Curiosity - a cure for boredom or NASA's next generation Rover searching for water and signs of life on Mars? Find out at this month's NightSchool. Stimulate your curiosity about life, the universe, space travel, telescope making or the art of fixing your own toaster. Enjoy music, food and drinks while exploring the halls and classrooms of NightSchool and let your curiosity run wild.

Dive into the world of Telescopes with Telescopes 101*
 
8:30pm Fly a Mission to Mars* in our Challenger Learning Center® (1 hour)
 
8:30pm Navigate the night sky and learn techniques and tools to observe like a pro in your own backyard with Stargazing 101 Class* (45min.)

Join a discussion about search for life in one of our Café Conversations

Visit one of our Open Labs and be silly or pick up a new hobby

•Fixit Clinic: Bring or borrow a broken something-or-other and learn how to assess, disassemble and hopefully repair. Workspace and tinkering experts on hand for guidance

•Surviving in Space: Do you have the right stuff? Experience physiological effects of space on the body and mind!

•Telescope Makers Workshop: See the art of telescope making in action and learn how you can build your own!
 
7pm-11pm Night
Observatory Deck Viewing (weather permitting)
Music by DJ Miggy Stardust: Bringing you space-pop lounge grooves perfect for dancing "the Robot!"
