The new exhibit at Lawrence Hall of Science asks museum-goers to question the world around them. How do airplanes fly? Why are bridges able to hold so much? How do cars stay on the road? With many hands-on activities, people of all ages are sure to be entertained.

Is your teen looking for something fun to do for New Year's Eve? Zion Lutheran Church is hosting a Youth Lock-In for 7th and 8th graders with games, pizza, and a generally awesome time with friends.

The Pinball Museum is hosting its 8th annual New Year's Eve Party amongst the pinball machines. There will be lots of food, art, beer, wine, free champagne at midnight, and over 100 pinball machines! This is a family-friendly event; however, why not treat yourself to a night out and be a kid again! All proceeds support the museum.

FUN FOR KIDS AT HEART:

at the Cohen-Bray House, Sunday, Jan. 2, 12:30 p.m.

The Cohen-Bray house is one of the most beautifully decorated Victorian homes in Oakland. Check out the candle-decked Christmas tree and Craftsman styled rooms before adjourning to the dining room for tea and tea sandwiches. You can dress up in period clothing if you like to add to the ambiance of this lovely building.

Bask in bluegrass at , Monday, Jan. 3, 7:30pm.

Check out the Bluegrass Jam every Monday night at McGarth's Irish Pub, where, if you bring a guitar, mandolin, banjo, or fiddles along with you, you can jump in the mix. These upbeat tunes will chase the winter, post-holiday blues away before you know it.

Stretch yourself out with , Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1:30 p.m.

All that yummy food during the holidays may have caught up with you, so if you're feeling sluggish, try yoga! Sandra Razieli, yoga-instructor extraordinaire, will lead you in poses designed to increase body awareness, strength, breathing, and meditation.
