Green Day a Crowd Pleaser at Greek Theatre

"Billie Joe Armstrong acted like a man with a new lease on life," said a one review.

Local band Green Day wowed the crowd at UC Berkeley's Greek Theatre Tuesday night, says a review on insidebayarea.com.

Lead singer Bille Joe Armstrong was "joyful, energetic and full of passion," said music critic Jim Harrington, who noted that Armstrong went through a rehab program last year. "Billie Joe Armstrong acted like a man with a new lease on life," he said.

The review also noted "the mighty rhythm section of bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool" and the addition of longtime sideman-guitarist Jason White as an official member of the band.
