Local Poet Nominated for NorCal Book Award

David Meltzer is among the five finalists for the 2012 Northern California Book Awards.

Local poet David Meltzer is among the five nominees in the poetry category for the 2012 Northern California Book Awards. He is nominated for When I Was a Poet.

Meltzer, 75, is considered one of the leading poets of the Beat Generation. He is the author of three novels and numerous collections of poetry. He married fellow poet Julie Rogers last year.
