Piedmont Marks Lunar New Year with Flying Yo-Yos, Spinning Swords

A standing room only crowd filled the Beach Elementary School auditorium Friday, Feb. 11, for a celebrate of Lunar New Year sponsored by the Piedmont Asian American Club and the Piedmont Language School.

The audience  for the annual event was treated to a reading by children's author Oliver Chin, a performance by the Piedmont High School Ukelele Club, the yo-yo stylings of national yo-yo champ Joseph Harris and demonstrations by the U.S. Wushu Team and the U.S. Shaolin Kung Fu School.
