East Bay Christmas Tree Farm Open

Many families look forward to cutting their own tree year after year.

For many East Bay families, a trip to the Castro Valley Christmas Tree Farm each year marks the start of their holiday season.

This year the farm, located just north of Castro Valley in the hills at the juncture of Redwood and Miller Roads, opened Nov. 23. It is scheduled to be open through Dec. 16 on Wednesdays through Fridays from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can get complete directions to the farm here.

It is recommended you check the farm's website first before coming, however, because they reserve the right to close early if there is a short supply of trees.
