is celebrating its 118th anniversary — and, coincidentally, National Ice Cream Day — with an ice cream social for customers from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 15.
On the store's patio, at 4226 Piedmont Ave., you'll find a scooping station and free barbeque (while supplies last), DJ Mano spinning retro music, a free raffle every half hour and a chance to meet Myrtle the Cow. For kids there will be crafts and interactive 4-H projects, free face painting and balloons.
Across the street at Fentons' sister store, , 4211 Piedmont Ave., there will be ice cream demonstrations.
All day, Black & Tan Junior sundaes will be available at the rollback price of $1.18 (dine in or take out, one per customer). Fentons will also be selling "From the Cow to You" T-shirts for $18 and "Saluting Our Favorite Cow" badges for $1.
A similar celebration will take place simultaneously at the Fentons outlet at The Nut Tree in Vacaville.
