Grand Lake Dining: Restaurant Opening Delayed, Celebrity Sighting at Chipotle

Plus more Grand Lake area business news from the most recent "Splash Pad Newsletter."

Charlie Hallowell, owner of Boot & Shoe Service on Grand Avenue, has shelved plans for a butcher shop adjacent to his planned new restaurant, Penrose & Sons Fine Meats and Spirits, according to the latest issue of the Splash Pad Newsletter. The opening date for the new eatery, right across the street from Boot & Shoe, has been pushed back from late 2012 to late spring or early summer of 2013.

Splash Pad Newsletter editor Ken Katz also reports on a new "celebrity sighting" in the Grand Lake area: Warriors guard Klay Thompson dining at Chipotle, 3271 Lakeshore Ave. Attention, Golden State Warriors fans — Thompson apparently lives nearby and is spotted with some regularity on Lakeshore.
