Home Sales Slow a Bit

Eleven Piedmont homes sold during May, 2011, down from 18 homes the previous month.

Home sales in Piedmont slowed somewhat in May after a rather brisk April. Eleven homes sold (compared to 18 the previous month), with sale prices ranging from a two-bedroom, one-bath at $550,000 to a four-bedroom, three-bath at $2.85 million.

The market favored homes on the lower end of the price range. Four homes sold for under $1 million; three for $1 to $1.5 million; two for $1.5 to $2 million; and two for over $2 million.

Home buyers could find bargains in shorter supply this month. Piedmont Patch's most recent list of open houses, for Sunday, June 5, didn't include anything under $1 million.

Seven of the homes sold in May had been on the market for 30 days or less (and another for just 31 days). One sold in a week, another in eight days. Only one had been listed for more than three months.
