Monster Is Menu Monarch at Piedmont's Only Eatery

At the only the place that sells made-to-order food in Piedmont, Mulberry's Market, the most popular choice on the expansive sandwich board is probably the cold "Settlemonster," followed closely by the hot "See Jane."

If you want made-to-order sandwiches in Piedmont or special entrees and side dishes, you don't have many choices.

There's one – Mulberry's Market. (We're not counting packaged snacks and foods at the gas station.)

And you want to know what sandwich is the most ordered, owner Virginia Davis told Patch, "It's probably the Settlemonster."

The Settlemonster is served cold and combines roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, havarti cheese, mayonnaise and lettuce on a sweet baguette. And at $6.95, it's at least a dollar less expensive than any of the 20 specialty sandwiches on the big boards behind the food-preparation counters.

The other main contender is the "See Jane," served hot with chicken breast, sliced avocado, pepper jack cheese and pico de gallo on toasted ciabatta, Davis said. At $7.95, it's the same price as most of the other sandwiches.

And the most popular item from the prepared foods in glass-fronted display case?

The grilled salmon, Davis said. Their chicken noodle soup also is a hit, she added.
