McMullen Opens 'Pop-Up' Store in Old Oakland

Friday was the official opening day for the Grand Avenue fashion boutique's new branch in downtown Oakland.

, the fashion boutique at 1235 Grand Ave., officially opened its new branch in Old Oakland Friday.

The downtown store, at 831 Broadway, Oakland, is part of the Popuphood initiative, where the new East Bay nonprofit negotiates free rent for six months for businesses that will occupy vacant storefronts in the Old Oakland neighborhood,

McMullen held a launch party for the new store on June 26 (see photos on the McMullen blog here) and will have a grand opening during Popuphood's First Friday block party on July 6.

The Oakland store, at the corner of Ninth Street and Broadway, will carry many of the same brands and designers found in its Piedmont location. Hours for the new store are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
