New Restaurant Watch: Box and Bells on College

James Shyabout's third Oakland eatery will open in January.

James Shyabout, the owner of the celebrated Commis on Piedmont Avenue and Hawker Fare in Uptown, has a new Oakland restaurant in the works. Box and Bells will serve the sort of fare the staff at Commis makes for itself, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Inside Scoop. Think fricasee of snails and oyster mayonnaise.

Box and Bells is scheduled to open in January, according to Eater SF. The new restaurant will be in the space formerly occupied by Somerset at 5912 College Ave.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
