Where Did You Get That Cupcake?

If you order up something good, take a picture and send it with a description to amy@patch.com.

Margaret Heafey and Barbee Rubenstein offered up mini dark chocolate cupcakes and sugar cookies for free at at 335 Highland Ave Wednesday. The samples were cooked up by another Piedmont mom, Wendy Szczech, with Pure Pantry gluten-free baking mixes, which just arrived on the market's shelves earlier this month for $9.99.

Heafey said her friend Elizabeth Kaplan started Pure Pantry after finding out that she and two of her children had celiac disease and deciding she did not want them to be deprived of joys like birthday cake.

The chocolate cake, made with a mix of wholegrain quinoa and brown rice flour, is so sweet and gooey it will certainly ensure many happy returns, whether the consumer has a gluten sensitivity or not.
