OAKLAND’S FIRST DEDICATED INDOOR CYCLING STUDIO OPENING ON NOVEMBER 25th

Oakland – Oakland’s first dedicated indoor cycling studio, Ride Oakland, is set to open on Piedmont Avenue on Monday, November 25th. The newly remodeled Ride Oakland studio has 24 state- of-the-art bikes and will offer over 20 classes per week.

Oakland residents Deb Collard and Helen Saunders are the co-founders of Ride Oakland; both fitness enthusiasts and certified spin instructors. Collard, also a licensed physical therapist, has operated Garagespin, a small indoor cycling studio out of her Crocker Highland’s garage for the past three years. Demand for her classes grew, and by teaming with Saunders, the duo is excited to expand their spinning community.

Ride Oakland classes will run between the hours of 5:45 am and 7:00pm. Class offerings include, Intro Ride (new riders), Ultimate Ride (signature class with weights), Just Ride (cycling only), Extended Ride (longer), and Teen Ride (for the 13-19 year old set). Ride Oakland plans to offer special events throughout the year, including private cycling parties, and babysitting will be available for a small fee during designated classes.

“Ride Oakland is a place to enjoy a great workout, become stronger and more fit, and most of all to have fun.  We want our studio to feel personal and our clients to feel welcome no matter what fitness level they are, said Collard.  Our riders will leave here feeling empowered by the full body cycling class, the group energy that is in each ride, and the special attention they get by coming to a small studio.”

Ride Oakland will be hosting an Open House on Friday, November 22nd from 6-8 pm at their studio at 4448 Piedmont Ave in Oakland. The public is invited to stop by and check out the studio, meet the owners and instructors, and even take a ride.
