13th Annual EBAC Auxiliary Masquerade Ball at Historic Hillside Home

The EBAC Auxiliary is a group that raises funds in support of East Bay Agency for Children programs. The organization was founded in 1999 and continues to serve children and families in need.

This year's Masquerade Ball will be held at the historic "Grey Gables" home in Piedmont. This Tudor estate style house at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Hillside Avenue is Albert Farr's earliest documented residential commission in the City of Piedmont. Building the home in 1906 for Adolph and Eleanor Uhl, Farr decided against the more common half-timbered style home and created a baronial hall with parapeted gables set between twin towers. Eleanor Uhl originally painted the house grey, and for many years it was known throughout Piedmont as "Grey Gables".

Guests of the Masquerade Ball will be treated to passed hors d’oeuvres in the main level of this grand home. An elegant seated dinner, catered by Barbara Llewellyn, and fine wines from the Keenan Winery will follow. Seating will be limited.  Multi-talented comedian (writer, television host, talk radio host and commentator) Brian Copeland will entertain and spend the evening at the party.  The event will also offer dancing, hosted bar and a live auction.

The Masquerade Ball will benefit all 13 EBAC programs, including the Child Assault Prevention Training Center, Circle of Care—Grief and Illness Support, Hawthorne Family Resource Center, Therapeutic Nursery School and the EBAC Probation Mental Health Services.  The Auxiliary raises funds each year primarily through its annual Masquerade Ball.  This year’s Ball promises to be full of special surprises as EBAC celebrates 60 years building brighter futures and stronger communities.
