East Bay Agency for Children Auxiliary Welcomes New Members

East Bay Agency for Children ( EBAC ) Auxiliary welcomes new members and encourages support by attending one or all of their exciting, upcoming events. We hope to see you there!

On Thursday, April 5 members of the East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) Auxiliary gathered to welcome new members at the home of Edna Cooper. At the meeting, the group also discussed upcoming site visits to EBAC’s Therapeutic Nursery School, Hawthorne Family Resource Center, Oakland Day treatment classrooms and Circle of Care/PALS. Shoshana Phoenixx-Dawn, Support Group Coordinator for the Circle of Care/PALS program spoke and educated members regarding one of the nation’s few programs providing counseling and support services to children and their families where a parent, caregiver or family member has died or is living with a life threatening illness.

The Auxiliary is grateful for Development Director Julie West’s work providing opportunities to engage volunteers directly with EBAC programs. Members are also busy planning another spectacular Masquerade Ball, the Auxiliary’s largest fundraiser of the year, scheduled on Oct. 27, 2012.

Other important upcoming EBAC fundraising events include: The Wood Tavern Benefit on the evening of Sunday, April 29. Once again Rich and Rebekkah Woods are hosting a fantastic party at their Wood Tavern restaurant. Call the restaurant directly (510) 654-6607 for your reservation – quickly, before it sells out. EBAC Circle of Care Grief and Illness Support Services will hold its third annual Walk to Remember at Lake Merritt on May 12, 2012. This is a celebration of loved ones and Circle of Care’s 30 years of service to the community. Learn more at http://www.firstgiving.com/circleofcare
