2.9 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Danville Area
A 2.9 magnitude earthquake hit near Mt. Diablo State Park around noon today.
Near Mt. Diablo State Park, in northern Blackhawk, a 2.9 magnitude earthquake rumbled through at about noon, the U.S. Geological Survey has reported.
The earthquake was about four miles northeast of Danville, at a depth of 5.9 miles, and was recorded at 12:04 p.m., the USGS said.
A San Ramon Fire District spokesperson said no issues have been reported locally so far due to the earthquake.
