Bites off Broadway Brings Food Trucks Nearby

A Friday night alternative to take-out dinners

While it's unlikely that Piedmont will host a convocation of "gourmet" food trucks anytime soon, you don't have to travel far if you'd like to sample street eats.

Bites off Broadway is scheduled to bring food trucks to 365 - 45th St., Oakland (in front of Studio One Art Center, around the corner from Oakland Technical High School) every Friday through Oct. 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Information: 510-654-6346.

Expect a half dozen mobile food vendors offering an eclectic array of edibles. The food vendor lineup is posted mid-week on the Bites off Broadway Facebook page.

Seating is on the lawn, so bring lawn chairs and blankets. The organizer, Karen Hester, hopes to add some live entertainment and family-friendly movies as the season progresses.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
