Looking Up Tonight: the Quadrantid Meteor Shower

Take a peek at the heavens before or after midnight if you're a night owl

One of the year's best natural light shows takes place tonight, although it's iffy whether cloud cover and a bright waxing moon will obscure the "shooting stars" of the Quadrantid meteor shower.

Astromers say the best viewing hours locally are likely to be from 11 p.m. on Jan. 3 to 2 a.m. on Jan. 4.
