Clarinet Concert at the Piedmont Center for the Arts

A concert of contemporary works for clarinet and strings will be presented at the Piedmont Center for the Arts on Monday, Nov 11 at 7:30pm. Swiss clarinetist Matthias Mueller and American clarinetist Cynthia Krenzel Doggett present this recital in collaboration with San Francisco clarinetists Larry London and Tom Rose. The Divertimento Quartet, an ensemble of Bay area string players (Joseph and Raphael Gold, Debbie Dare, and Paul Rhodes) will join the clarinetists on two compositions. Mueller and London are composers in addition to clarinetists, and several of their works will be featured on the recital. All pieces on the program were composed in the past 50 years, and they were chosen by the performers for their compelling melodies and rhythm. The concert will be followed by a reception of wine and chocolate. Tickets available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/497705

$20 regular admission, $10 for students.
