The League of Women Voters
of Piedmont will host an Election Forum on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in
the Council Chambers at Piedmont City Hall.
Moderated by Marj Blackwell, the Forum will feature arguments for and
against two local measures appearing on the June 3, 2014 ballot. Measure AA would extend the current half-cent sales tax used to
provide essential healthcare services for Alameda County through June
2034.
Measure H would authorize a $13.5
million bond to renovate, repair and upgrade Piedmont Unified School District’s
Alan Harvey Theater.
The community is cordially invited to attend the Forum to learn more about these two measures.
Those unable to attend are invited to view a simulcast of the event on
KCOM-TV, channel 27. As always, audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions in writing to presenters arguing for and against each measure. KCOM viewers will be able to submit questions via text messaging.
