PADC hosting expanded Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

The Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee
(PADC) will host the city’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at the Piedmont Community Center from 1:00 to
4:00 pm on Monday, January 20.

This year’s celebration will include more performances and community service opportunities
honoring Dr. King, and will feature Piedmont Choirs'
Ensemble Choir, Oakland School for the Art's One Voice Choir, and the Oaktown Jazz Workshop.

Speakers representing state and local government and Piedmont schools will discuss Dr. King, his legacy and ways we can carry on his work through community service opportunities in the East Bay. Sweets (including some reported to be Dr. King’s favorites!) and beverages will be served during the event. This event is free and open to the public.
