From a Piedmont Boy Scouts press release:

The annual Piedmont “Scouting for Food” drive is under way!

Please leave your donations outside and clearly visible from the street by 9 a.m.

Acceptable donations include canned meats, vegetables and fruits, and boxed and non-perishable bagged items. Please avoid glass containers and frozen foods.

Last year the community gave 6,588 lbs. of food and collected $2,135 through our Virtual Food Drive. Please continue to help fight hunger in the Bay Area by donating this year.

If you choose to give online, each $1 given buys $4 worth of food through the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Please go to our home webpage for a link to our Virtual Drive at www.piedmontbsa.org.

If you miss our pick-up day, we will have barrels located at the Boy Scout Office (10 Highland Way, Piedmont) and on the corner of Highland Avenue  and Oakland Avenue over the weekend of Nov. 15 to 18. There will also be a barrel at Mulberry’s through Friday, November 22.

Thank you for your ongoing support and participation. Please contact the Scout Office if you have questions, 510-547-4493.
