Santa's Sleigh Needs Filling — Donate Toys at Fire Station

New, unwrapped toys for children of all ages are needed.

Donations for the annual Toys for Tots collection at the Piedmont Fire Department are lower this season than in past years, says Barbara MacLean, the PFD's fiscal services technician and coordinator for the toy drive.

To donate, bring new, unwrapped toys to the Piedmont fire station at 120 Vista Ave.The last day to donate is Friday, Dec. 13.

Toys for children of all ages are needed. The fire station is the only collection point for Toys for Tots within Piedmont.

Accoding to the Toys for Tots website, nearby donation spots in Oakland include Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Mason McDuffie. 3320 Grand Ave.; The Grubb Company, 1960 Mountain Blvd.; Pacific Union International, 1900 Mountain Blvd.; Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, 6137 La Salle Ave.; Center for Holistic Health, 5273 College Ave., Ste. 101; and See Jane Run, 5817 College Ave.

Toys for Tots is a national project of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Toys collected locally are distributed to needy children in Alameda County.
