PHS College and Career Center Rolls Out Blog on Alumni College Experiences

PHS Blog Featuring College Experience Stories

As part of an ongoing effort to inform and educate the PHS student body about colleges, the PHS College and Career Center has unveiled a blog titled "PHS Grads At College." Stories are posted by PHS graduates about the college they are currently attending (or from which they have graduated) and cover topics such as the overall experience, the social scene, academics, professors, housing and food.

All high school students and parents are invited to view the blog to get additional perspectives on college experience written by recent PHS graduates. "Working with students over the past 7 years I realized that one of the most significant influences on a student applying to college or accepting admission to a particular college happened to be hearing from Piedmont High school alumni that attends or attended the college. Our high school students identify and trust the opinions of other PHS students, especially most recent graduates about their first hand and new experiences at a college," says Sandra Brod, Director of the College and Career Center.

PHS alumni are encouraged to share their stories as well via the blog site. The idea is to provide a wealth of information about colleges near and far, big and small for our student body to help inform their decision about which school might be the best fit for them.

The site is located at http://www.phsgradsatcollege.com
