The Lakeside Garden Center, 666 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, will host a rhododendron flower show and plant sale April 14 and 15. It is free and open to the public.
The plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The flower show will take place on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The garden center is located in Lakeside Park, off Grand Avenue, along the north side of Lake Merritt.
Come view hundreds of flowers at this show and plant sale. There will be rare, fragrant and unusual flowers on display and a plant "doctor" will be at the event to answer questions you may have about your own garden.
The show is being presented by the California Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. According to its website, the society was founded in 1952 by local rhododendron enthusiasts. Members of the California Chapter meet monthly in Oakland.
