Piedmonter, NFL Owner Al Davis Dead at 82

The owner of the Oakland Raiders and longtime Piedmont resident was one of football's great iconoclasts.

In tributes, Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis is being called, "brilliant, enigmatic and unapologetically independent," by the San Francisco Chronicle, "controversial and combative," by the New York Times, and "charming, cantankerous and compassionate," by the Associated Press.

In Piedmont, some just called him, "neighbor."

Davis died Saturday at the age of 82.

Whether you're a Raiders fan or knew Davis as the man next door, how will you remember him?

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
