Moving Toward a Safer Oakland - by Bryan Parker, Oakland Mayoral Candidate

It is important that we honor the victims of crime in Oakland. Whether the crime is a violent one, robbery or murder we must show compassion. Compassion alone, however, is not enough. Making Oakland safer will take thoughtful leadership that will develop a robust vision for exactly how Oakland becomes more safe. We must move toward a vision of being one city to fully realize this goal.
Let's start this important conversation. It begins with all of us. This is about a movement, not about an election, toward a safer city.
