Armed Man Robs Grand Lake Citibank Branch

An armed robber held up the Citibank branch at 3304 Grand Ave., Oakland about 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 15), according to a bulletin issued by the Oakland Police Department at 1:07 p.m.

Police said a man in his late 20s wearing a gray hoodie, gray Oakland Raiders cap and sunglasses, robbed the branch bank, which is about a half-block from the Grand Lake Theater.

According to an article in the Oakland Tribune, the man showed a gun to a teller and presented a note demanding money. He escaped with about $1,000, the Tribune reported.

The robber has a blond goatee, is about 6'2" tall and weighs about 140 pounds, police said.

The suspect is shown in the attached surveillance photo. Anyone who is able to identify him is asked to call OPD at (510) 777-3333 or the OPD Robbery Section at (510) 238-3326 with any information.
