Cyclist in 'Grave Condition' After Accident on Redwood Road

The man lost control of his bike when he hit a dip in the roadway, police said.

Bay City News—A man riding his bicycle with a fellow cyclist in the Oakland Hills on Wednesday evening was gravely injured when he hit a dip in the roadway, lost control and crashed, Oakland police said.

The bicyclist was riding downhill in the 7300 block of Redwood Road at the edge of Redwood Regional Park when he hit a dip and became airborne. The incident was reported at 6:50 p.m., police said.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition and is not expected to survive, according to police. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
