Two drivers hit parked cars in separate, unrelated accidents in Piedmont Sunday and Monday, a Piedmont Police Department spokesman said.
In the first incident, a 23-year-old Piedmont man driving his father's Honda Odyssey hit a parked vehicle in the 300 block of Moraga Avenue about 2:20 a.m. on Jan. 29, Detective George Phifer said.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) after a field sobriety test was administered, Phifer said. Investigators are now waiting for results of a blood alcohol test, he said.
The Honda's airbags deployed and the driver was not injured, Phifer said.
In the second accident, a driver veered and hit two parked cars in the 800 block of Kingston Avenue about 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 30, Phifer said. The driver was not injured but was taken to Alta Bates Hospital to be checked for a possible medical condition, he said. A dog in the driver's vehicle was released to a neighbor for temporary care, he said.
