Email Alerts Offered by Piedmont Police and Fire

Piedmont's police and fire departments have established an email alert system that residents can subscribe to for receiving messages and news about public safety.

Piedmont residents can now sign up for "Public Safety Dispatches" via email from the police and fire departments, the city recently announced.

The email alerts will include notices about "major street closures, public safety situations, and planned power outages at the same time information is sent to the press," a city notice said.

Those who wish to receive the alerts can send an email to publicsafetydispatches@ci.piedmont.ca.us.

In addition, the city said, residents can sign up separately for information about neighborhood safety meetings.

"If you are interested in organizing, hosting, or attending a neighborhood safety meeting, please go the the Public Safety Committee’s page and enter your information," the notice said. "You will be contacted by a member of the committee who will give you information on setting up a meeting."
