Bay City News Service—One victim was fatally shot in Oakland's Adams Point neighborhood near Lake Merritt this morning, according to police. Oakland police received reports of gunshots at 5:42 a.m. in the 400 block of Vernon Street.
Upon arrival, officers found one male victim and no suspects, according to police. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting, police said.
Police are gathering evidence at the scene of the shooting this morning. No suspects are in custody, police said.
