John Lagios is Piedmont's Newest Police Officer

The former PPD reserve officer is now full-time

Officer John Lagios was sworn in as a full-time police officer for the City of on Friday, Dec. 9, at a ceremony held in the City Hall council chambers.

Born and raised in Oakland, Lagios graduated from Bishop O'Dowd High
School
in 1993. He attended Sacramento State University, where he obtained a
bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 1997, with a minor in advanced criminal
investigations.

He joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1999 and worked as a patrol officer in several district stations for over 8 years.

In July 2010, Lagios was sworn in as a reserve police officer with the Piedmont Police Department. He was appointed as a full-time officer on Dec. 9.

Lagios is filling a new position at the department rather than replacing a retiring or departing officer, according to the PPD.

The department is excited to have Officer Lagios on board, PPD officials said.
