A 75-year-old Oakland man who was found dead in a hill area home following a one-alarm fire on Saturday has been identified as Richard Drobus, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

Drobus was found when firefighters responded to the blaze reported at 2383 Thackeray Drive (about three blocks from Shepherd Canyon Park) at 4:30 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Adrian Sheppard.

The single-alarm fire was limited to the bathroom of the single-family home and controlled within five minutes, Sheppard said.

It remains unclear whether Drobus died due to smoke inhalation or to a medical condition.

According to the coroner's bureau, an autopsy will be performed this week to determine a cause of death.
