Bay City News Service—A man was shot and killed in Oakland's Grand Lake neighborhood Wednesday evening, an Oakland police officer said.

Police responded to the 800 block of Vermont Street, about a block from Mandana Boulevard between Grand and Lakeshore avenues, at 6:34 p.m. The victim was found there suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

According to the Oakland Tribune, police said the man was shot multiple times by a gunman who then fled on foot. The victim was getting into a car parked by an apartment in the 800 block of Vermont where he sometimes stayed, the news report says. Poice believe the victim, a 38-year-old man who also had a San Leandro address, was targeted, the Tribune says.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
