Man Wounded in Arm, Leg in Piedmont Avenue Shooting

The victim told police he was walking to his car after leaving the tavern Egbert Souse's when the shooting occurred.

A man was shot and wounded as he left Egbert Souse's, a bar at 3758 Piedmont Ave. (at West MacArthur Boulevard), Oakland early this morning, Saturday, according to the Oakland Tribune.

The man was wounded in an arm and a leg and was taken to the nearby Kaiser Hospital emergency room, the Tribune article says. He is reportedly in stable condition.

A parked vehicle was also hit by gunfire, the article says.

The incident happened shortly before 2 a.m.

At a meeting with Oakland police and city officials in August, neighborhood residents complained that gunshots, loud arguments and suspected drug dealing are frequent problems outside Egbert Souse's.
